So what's up with the publisher and all? Any new info?

Whoa, that's a pretty big deal if I'm not mistaken. Congratulations.

Is this one in color or is Scholastic doing some black and white stuff? Scholastic has been great for Jeff Smith and Bone - here's hoping for the same success for Doug.

Yeah, Ghostopolis is in color. It's why 100 people helped me with this book. The deal is still shaping up so it's probably premature to announce. They're supposed to be putting a contract together right now but we've generally agreed on the terms.

I remember you being friends with Kazu, who made Amulet and Copper. Did he have anything to do with the new publisher?

Kaz did not. I met with my editor four years ago and he'd been trying to find a book we could do for quite a while. Most of my projects didn't fit into what Scholastic was doing. Ghostopolis was the first that had a lot of overlap with their audience.
